The Achievement Incentive offers up to $17,000 to eligible sponsors for training apprentices. Milestone payments will be provided to sponsors for apprentice trade progression and completion. The milestone payments include:

Registration:

$1,000 registration payment for each newly registered apprentice to the ministry who is under the age of 25 and/or self-identifies as part of an under-represented or equity-deserving group (for a maximum of $2,000, if applicable).

In-Class Training Progression:

$1,000 milestone payment for each level of in-class training completed, up to four levels of schooling (where applicable).
An additional $1,000 milestone payment for each apprentice under the age of 25 and/or apprentice that self-identifies as being part of an under-represented or equity-deserving group (for a maximum of $12,000, where applicable).

Completion:

$1,000 milestone payment when your apprentice achieves the highest certification in their trade, either a Certificate of Apprenticeship or a Certificate of Qualification.
An additional $1,000 for each apprentice under the age of 25 and/or apprentice that self-identifies as being part of an under-represented or equity-deserving group (for a maximum of $3,000).

You only need to apply for the Achievement Incentive once. After your eligibility is confirmed and you have provided your banking information to the ministry, future payments will automatically be deposited into your account as your apprentices meet eligible training milestones.

Have an address or permanent work site in Ontario;
Be an approved ministry sponsor for apprenticeship; and
